After reading House's book "Ryerson's Manhunt" I had to have another go at his scribbling. "Stouthearted Men" set my nerves on end, my taste buds on fire, his character "Spunky" had me in stitches. House is a great writer and his character Cole Ryerson makes a believable U. S. Marshall. The passage where Bertha Maguire, after having traveled half a day just to feed her husband and his friends is a classic in dialogue. His character, Doctor Sebring, who puts aside danger to gaze at the stars through his telescope, is a person we have all met once in our lives. Enjoy this book. House knows how to pen a great fast read book. Hope he keeps at it...bw
