Some of the heroes in this mix of eleven sci-fi, dystopian, and suspense stories are male, some are female, some are young, and some are old. Join them as they face desperate situations which are sometimes macabre, sometimes other-worldly and occasionally humorous. They include: a woman who must overcome her demons and a host of other threats to save her son; a boy who finds his Halloween costume a little too convincing and his uncle a little too frightening; an apocalyptic story about people eating food that's good enough to die for; a couple of men hauling zombies to a research lab have a fateful encounter with a good-looking hitchhiker; a fatherless young girl facing desperate times and evil men who hopes the stranger her mother hires will stay to protect them; a woman who hires a contract killer to teach her cheating husband a lesson; an old man who risks death for the sake of his grandson's future by defying an evil uber corporation; an ominous stranger who appears at someone's favorite morning coffee shop; a dearly departed who awakens at his funeral; two high school kids who decide they've had enough of a bully and an abusive teacher; and a husband who tries desperately to save his wife during a doomsday plague.
You may not like all of these stories, but I'm confident that everyone will find some they like in this eclectic mix of sci-fi, horror, mystery, and humor. And if you're a fan of coming-of-age stories, please try out my books, "The Kids at Gator Lake" and "Outcasts, Lies, and a Legend."
