swiming with the fishes

Storm Tide By: Bill Knox Storm tide by Bill Knox is about a mysterious nautical monster terrorizing piers in the Sandwood bay. This bay has many piers with boats connected to them. These boats are not for famous people just common fisher men. One of the first people to see the monster was Webb Carrick a chief officer on the boat. Carrick saw a shadow moving towards a boat tide to the pier. Carrick was a good ways in the sea and the thing looked about a quarter of a mile under water. There was a loud BOOM and one of the boats near the pier sank. When the crew heard the bang they all turned there heads, everyone was in shock. A few weeks later a fisherman was not working but relaxing so was using a regular fishing pole. About ten minutes later there was a strong jerk on the pole he partner wasn't catching anything so he went to help. Later that night the man that went over to help was found alive washed on to shore. He reported seeing teeth about as big as a shoe box and one bit shredded the boat. In the next three months reports similar to the partner's were filed. Eventually Carrick takes him and a crew of twenty-five men to kill or move this beast back into the ocean. Carrick goes out into the edge of the bay and has men fish with meat as bait. The monster rose up and looked fifty feet long. With on CRUCH half the boat was under water. Luckily Carrick only got glass stuck in his shoulders. With his arms about to fail he picked up the harpoon and shoot but it wasn't enough Carrick was eaten and that was the end of him. This book was enjoyable to the point were I would read it once or twice. I enjoyed how the main character died and he wasn't the hero. I also liked the way you didn't know what the thing was during the whole story. The final thing I liked was the character description. This book wasn't the best but if you have some spare time read this book. In this story Carrick doesn't live to tell his story and be a legend though out Scotland. Even when he had the chance to use what little strength he had to swim to shore , but no he stays and dies. Sometimes the people who live some things seem unreal. Also for this act his showing bravery, courage and stupidty. Personally I would have swum as fast as I can out of there. The monster was a mystery and gave me to imagine what the sea monster look like. All I had to follow was that it had teeth about the size of a shoe box and was fifty feet long. I thought of the monster as having on giant dorsal fin and two large flippers looking much like a giant seal. Only this seal ate much more meat with sharp teeth. The way Mr. Knox describe a character last name Roberts was excellent. Roberts was the navigator .he was described as an arrogant man who wanted to be in control always and would purposely navigate in the wrong direction if done wrong upon. He also never could keep a secret so he always listen in on peoples conversations hoping that no one was going throw him overboard or somethin
