Short, sweet and defintely tough to put down! Having known the author it gave a new insight into her life and what has driven her to the success she has achieved!

Someone to learn from, not dismiss

A story of multiple obstacles on life's road, including a childhood injury followed by progressive epilepsy, physical and sexual abuse, and parents who assume that her seizures are just a bid for attention. In her twenties, when her seizures make further progress in school almost impossible, Laura enrolls in a clinical epilepsy study at UCLA, and finally has brain surgery to remove the left temporal lobe of her brain, eliminating the seizures. But by its very nature the surgery causes further physical disability. "Give me twenty years," she tells her surgeons, "and I'll not only be fully recovered, but I'll own my own business!" Blest by inherent curiosity, optimism, thrift and determination, Laura achieves those goals and now, twenty-two years after surgery, is well established as operator of a child day-care center. This is an inspirational story but also a condemnation, not always kind but often accurate, of doctors who make a snap judgment in the first two minutes, without really listening to the patient or considering her medical record. This book was short but to the point...Never Give Up...inspirational. I found this story as one that you can't put down til you get to the last page...ending with a a dream coming true. I recommend this story for all people to read...could be the next best seller. OPRAH ought to get a hold of THIS ONE!!!
