A Compact Analysis of Current Events

With its Foreword and each of its five chapters written by different members of Moody Bible Institute's faculty and administration, this book is significant in that it succinctly relates current events in the Middle East to key biblical prophecies. The biblical covenants are cited and explained as the basis for Israel's prominence as "the linchpin to biblical history and prophecy." Topics considered include: God's differing programs for Israel and the Church, the Church's imminent rapture, the rise of the Antichrist and the Tribulation, Christ's return to earth, and Jerusalem's central role in end-times events. The book covers a wide view of Israel's biblical history and future, but it does not deal extensively with prophetical events beyond the Second Coming of Christ. This is evidently a planned limitation of its otherwise excellent, scholarly five chapters. Even so, the book's small size, its wide scope, and its unassailable doctrine (at least as viewed by conservative evangelicals) make it a delight to read and a manageable text for small study groups and home Bible classes.
