Jamnabhai unwillingly gets married and as a result an unwanted child 'daughter Ratna' is born. He loathes Ratna and never acknowledges her presence in his life until she marries Ashok to bore Jamnbhai a grandson. Jamnabhai is utterly fond of his grandson, and they plant a mango tree together. The tree is a testimony to Jamnabhai's love and longingness for his grandson.
