These short stories were originally written by a class teacher for his class. They focus on different aspects of country life and follow William Smith - an inquisitive and curious boy. The children were always eager to hear what would happen next or what William would be up to the next day. As the story goes from one chapter to another William learns a lot about the apple trees and the oak trees as well as all about how the wheat is sown and harvested. He discovers interesting things about the grey squirrels and the new forest ponies. We also get to meet Flora the sheep and hear about the secret swingintheforest.
