Stories of Big Oak Flat

A collection of stories and folklore from 1850 to 1950 passed down by the first Big Oak Flat homesteaders and their descendants to my grandfather, Dow Whitney. I heard these stories as a child growing up on the Whitney Ranch during the 1960's, usually sitting on the back-steps after supper, or at family holiday gatherings. I've captured them in print for my kids and grandkids as part of their heritage.
