Growing up in a small village on the outskirts of Stuttgart and being able to explore the forest and meadows without supervision seemed to be an idyllic childhood. Living now in Los Angeles, far away from the place she loved and where she grew up, Ursula wanted to share this experience with her family and friends. Times have changed so much. Women nowadays are competing with men in the business world and men share the responsibility of household chores and child rearing. Some of the stories must sound very strange and foreign to the young generation.Ursula describes her childhood, the wonderful and sad times that she lived through which made her the person that she is now. She tried to make sense of the events of World War II by talking to her parents, relatives and neighbors. She learned much by writing these stories, but much can never be explained.Most of all, it is the story of a young innocent girl and the life she led in the small village of Rohr, Germany.
