Stories in Stone is a nonfiction, historical research work detailing the pioneers of Folker Township in Clark County, Missouri, circa 1850. This unique collection contains photographs of all known gravestones in the Conkle cemetery, as well as some burials only found listed in newspaper clippings. Historical cemetery records do not exist for this cemetery, making this work key to preserving the stories of these pioneers of Northeastern Missouri. Stones were cleaned, recorded, photographed and then each person was researched in historical newspaper collections and in county and state documents, as well as through genealogical websites. Veterans of the War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish American War and Filipino War were discovered through military records. Over 100 pictures bring history and it's preservation to life!
