Stories for Jason is a collection of fictional short stories about a Quaker family's role in the underground railroad. The stories are woven together in a narrative spoken in the voice of a storyteller mother teacher her Quaker son about slavery, civil disobedience, and morality. I find the style touchingly unique, as the author remains true to her Quaker principles by explaining to her son, at the beginning of each story, that the story is an invention placed into a real historical context. I admire this dedication to truth telling. I purchased this book for my daughter. I hope she enjoys it as much as I did.
