It's the stories about leadership that we remember and tell ourselves. Never mind the fact that those patriarchal, supremacist, and in some cases racist leadership models no longer fit the society that we live in today. What we need more of are stories about alternative leadership models that we can tell ourselves and each other. We need more stories about leaders who were deliberative, or willing to compromise, or who sought consensus from the group of courageous followers supporting them - and were considered strong and successful. This collection of anecdotal stories is my contribution to the growing body of literature about followers. These are meant to form the basis for teaching stories; a revival of the oral teaching tradition, reframed for the digital age.
