Stone Wall Freedom: Part I - The Pirate

In the year 1749, pirate Giddy Gilcox and the crew of the Rogue Flattery commandeer a Spanish galley, intent on plundering its precious cargo. Gilcox discovers, however, that the ship's hold is not filled with treasure but a human cargo of African tribal people, enslaved to work the plantations of the Americas. Gilcox's crew bristles with a sense of foreboding; they've heard stories of Black Sam Bellamy meeting his death after overtaking a slave ship.
Gilcox sinks the slave ship and later anchors off of Block Island to bury their treasure marked by a hostage's gold cross. The ominous feeling from the slave ship continues to haunt Gilcox.
Is it possible that the cursed spirit of the slave ship is responsible for the severe nor' easter that suddenly blows in just as the pirates are preparing to leave the island? Is this the end or a beginning?
Block Island has a history filled with legends of piracy. Building upon such legends, Tucker has artfully created a story that is at once thrilling and poignant, vivid in its evocative language, and equally as mystical and magical as Block Island itself.
