The Bobcats are still stomping!

The story of the Bob Crosby Bobcats, "Stomp Off, Let's Go", the title of one of their hot records in one of the better, if not the best, biographies of the band that kept orchestrated Dixieland alive in the 1930's and '40's. I purchased my copy and had it autographed by most of the Bobcats in 1985, when they had their 50th reunion in St. Louis. Although they were advanced in years, they could still stomp off, and my mentor Ray Bauduc, Eddie Miller, Yank Lawson, Nappy Lamare, and Bobby Haggart were gracious and unassuming. The individual chapters on the band members are well done and contain some fascinating details of their musical careers. I highly recommend this book, which may be available through British sources and at cheaper pricing.
