Stimmy: An Alternative History Novel

By Joe Kinnison

A World Without Bailouts

An alternative version of American history imagines the pandemic period as a clash of generations. At the onset of the economic shutdown, two Millennials assert themselves against the norms of their enterprising elders.

Business leader, Benjamin Dosh, experiences an unwelcome acceleration of his mandatory retirement. Opposed by his company, his state, and billionaire peers, the workaholic moves to prevent what he sees as the decisive change agent, stimmy checks.

The ensuing economic collapse inspires up-and-comers to employ new weapons. While Dosh's estranged son disrupts with recklessness, Nova Bakker entitles herself to key systems and assets. She proves forward thinking and fight hardened.

With no handouts and few mercies, the conflict redefines the meaning of legacy. The victor gets to write the history.
