HEART WRENCHING

I am one of the lucky ones, and indeed I am very priveleged, as I know Nanon personally and this book is an incredible read. Nanon is a gifted writer, and opens our eyes to the reality of death row. Many people never have the opportunity to learn of life behind bars, particularly death row, and Nanon gives us exactly what "the people" need to see - a raw and frank account of the conditions that are imposed on these men on a daily basis. After reading this, one has no option but to be disgusted with the system that many turn a blind eye to. It is and extremely well written frank account of a young mans struggle to survive under circumstances most of us could never imagine in our worst nightmares. Thank you Nanon for sharing this with us.

Still Surviving is absolutely one of the best biographies I've read in a very long time. The author, whom the character is based on, gives an up close and personal encounter of the life he lives on Texas death row. It raised my level of consciousness concerning how prejudice the American judicial system really is. After I read the book, I pulled a lot of information from the internet on Nanon Williams only to find this young man is really innocent. I can guarantee that once you read this book, you will never read another one quite like it.

This is a very emotional and well written book. It raised my level of thinking to a whole new level. It made me realize that the most precious things in life are free and we often take the gift of life for granted.
