To be honest, emerging as a writer-especially this late in my life-is, in fact, a surprise to me. But since I have come this far, some of my words and expressions may have a profound impact on the lives of those who are troubled or feeling insecure, trying to find direction. If only one person would come out of the throes of darkness and uncertainty, I would consider my endeavor to heal some wounds to be a complete success.
I did not write the rules of living a decent life down in stone, but we should all know that when Moses was summoned by God, it was obvious what the Creator had in mind for all mankind. It is imperative that believers and nonbelievers understand this fact of life. We have to develop a feeling of faith and trust, knowing that each step forward is a step closer to eternity.
Throughout our entire lives, we must turn many corners and take many directions, being on constant guard that we are not led astray by false doctrine, falling off a precipice or into a dark chasm. Hopefully, reading all or some of the writings, especially the metaphors I have mentioned, will stir the furrows of your mind, creating within you a clean heart and a soul destined for everlasting peace.
I do not profess to have all the answers, but this final sentence can give you deeper insight as to our value as human beings: "We are merely passing through, and his eyes are always gazing upon our shadows."
