Stephen's Manual of EKG Interpretation: A Concise Course

This manual on EKG interpretation was written for students in all health allied fields and for doctors, nurses, physician assistants, emergency room personnel, paramedics and technicians whether in training or in practice. In about 100 pages, all important EKG patterns are demonstrated with simple explanations to describe why they appear as they do. The book begins with basic anatomy and physiology, how EKG leads were developed and the factors that determine why all those squiggles can be small, large, up or down. Following that are details on the P wave, the QRS complex, the ST segments and the T waves and the things that can go wrong with them. Arrhythmias, heart block, ischemic patterns and the QT interval are explained in easy to understand terms. Clinical disease states responsible for these abnormalities are included in the discussions. The author practiced clinical cardiology for 35 years and taught students the art of EKG interpretation in the classroom and in the hospital, winning multiple academic awards from medical institutions in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area for his work.
