Detail decorating is a simple and effective way to revitalize and personalize a room without changing the furniture or knocking down walls. In her latest book, Stephanie Hoppen offers hundreds of quick, stylish ideas for transforming a room to get a new, refreshing, and elegant look. Stephanie's chapters include "Window on Style," which focuses on curtains, window seats, blinds, borders, trim, and window boxes; "Pretty as a Picture" tells how to select and display paintings, photographs, panels, mirrors, and wall hangings; and "Chic Changes," with sections on cushions, throws, fabrics, and textures. More than 200 full-color photographs provide the inspiration and Hoppen's 40 years of experience as an international interior designer supply the know-how for anyone who wants to transform their living spaces quickly, inexpensively, and stylishly.
This is a well presented book but not one I would browse through on a regular basis. There are some wonderful rooms with interesting and eclectic treatments but I would have liked to see some more challenging houses/rooms, perhaps using flair and innovation but not necessarily by someone who has access to unlimited funding. After a while it became a bit tedious.

I am a big fan of both Kelly(daughter, In Touch/East meets West) and Stephanie Hoppen. I think this book was very informative and I will definitely be using some of the tips from the book very soon!
