Perry's parents had split up. He was used to living as an only child but then his dad married again. That was okay but he found out that his new mom had a son his age and he was going to come and live with them. Perry wasn't sure he wanted a brother but he didn't have much to say about it. When he met Gilbert, who went by Gib, he was not really impressed. Though they were both around 20 years old and both in college, Gib was way out there. It took a while but eventually Gib won Perry over and in no time they found that they had something in common. They both liked boys.
