Steinbeck

(Book #5 in the The Minnesota Kingstons Series)

There's Trouble in the North...

The last person she can trust is the man she left for dead...but he's the only one who knows she's alive, so...

Emberly "Phoenix" Hart has spent years proving herself as one of the Black Swans' most capable operatives. But when her mission to secure a dangerous AI program leads to capture by the Russian mob, she's forced to reach out to the only man who knows she's alive...the man she betrayed.

Steinbeck Kingston left his SEAL career behind after a mission gone wrong-a mission involving Phoenix. Now he's her only hope of escape, but trusting her again could cost him everything, including his reluctant heart.

As they race to prevent the Russians from weaponizing stolen AI technology, Emberly and Steinbeck uncover a deadly betrayal that threatens everything they hold dear. With the enemy closing in and time running out, they must choose between protecting their hearts and saving countless lives-including those of Steinbeck's family.

When the traitor strikes at the heart of Steinbeck's home, can Emberly finally trust in love enough to stop running? Or will her instinct to survive alone cost her the only real family she's ever known?

A pulse-pounding romantic suspense that delivers heart-stopping action, soul-deep emotion, and a love worth fighting for.

This faith-filled contemporary romance features a protective alpha hero, a fierce heroine learning to trust, found family, second chances, and redemption wrapped in a high-stakes international thriller that will keep you turning pages long into the night.

sizzling conclusion to the series

"Stand back and see what I will do." I have loved this journey with the Minnesota Kingstons. The six siblings are all fantastic and this last book in the series brought all of them home and tied up some loose ends in the family. Alas, the ending still leaves room for the story arc that has been coursing through several series to continue on some more. I absolutely adored alpha male Steinbeck who protects and shows up no matter what. I had thought his oldest brother Jack and his younger brothers Doyle and Conrad were alphas but Stein outshines them all. Emberly, as a highly trained international "thief", added spark, grit, stubbornness and loads of action to the plot. Their banter was absolutely fantastic and their romance was delightful. The entire Kingston family under one roof was a treasure in itself; the siblings' easy-going camaraderie and fierce love for each other touched my heart. There is plenty of action, maybe more so than any other book in the series. I guess that's what you get when you put a former SEAL and a Black Swan together to fight international crime and thwart a world war. There is also a good dose of spiritual truths embedded in all the family's conversations. "Faith is the only way out of the chaos of this world" struck me to the core. I also loved seeing the Alaskan Kingstons cousins, the Minnesota Marshalls, the Caleb Group, and those from Alaska Air One Rescue team pitch in and help bring down the villains. I still want a story about Roy though (I hope one is in the works...). If you enjoy high-octane romantic suspense, this book is it! I received a complimentary copy courtesy of SDG Publishing and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Great Characters in a Page-turning Conclusion

This riveting conclusion spans multiple countries and brings trouble right to the Kingstons’s doorsteps. Emberly/Phoenix and Steinbeck finally get their story, and it’s one with non-stop action. I’ve enjoyed the dynamics between the hero and heroine in the previous books, and it continues in this one. Phoenix, while completely capable, is in a bind and needs help. Enter Steinbeck. There’s plenty of intrigue and many harrowing moments that will keep you turning the pages. But you’ll close the book satisfied that all is right in the Kingstons’s world. Steinbeck is a thoroughly entertaining story.

explosive action

I love the story, don't get me wrong but I am done with Alan Martin the villain, he should have been caught a long time ago. If this was a TV series I would have stopped watching it because of him. Steinbeck and Emberly/Phoenix are my two favorite characters from this series. I like how they feel like they can only depend on themselves but realize God has a bigger plan/mission for them and that is to trust Him and to rely on each other, they are stronger together. Once again there is plenty of action, suspense, mystery, a strong faith element and romance. And another surprise visit from Judah, I love how he pops in just when someone needs him.
