The Best, The Brightest, The Most Anal Minds In Baseball

These yearly books are a lot of fun. It takes you through a myriad of emotions. There are times when your amazed by the insight and other times when your laughing at these guys screaming at the book, "Get a life". They take a few tangents but I find that more interesting. The book is taken from a series of email communications over a baseball season. The cast of characters has some of the finest and most well known baseball minds in the game, Bill James the most noteworthy, Don Zminda the most insightful and balanced. Like any good soap opera, you'll have characters you like and ones you want to strangle. Several of these guys suffer from OCD type symptoms, but they are lovable nerds. I've read several of these books through the years and as Stats Inc. becomes bigger, I notice they begin to sound a tad more elitest. They totally missed the big market - small market debate as guys like Costas saw it comming before these guys noticed. I guess they need to take their heads out of the computer and talk to a human being every once in awhile.
