I received the book in a timely manner and it was as good as brand new

Very useful if you want to do your statistics on Excel

Microsoft does a very poor job of documenting its popular Excel statistical functions. Even if you peruse through the Microsoft's website, the explanations, particularly of the meaning of the Excel's Data Analysis output, are sorely lacking. This book fills that void. It covers the following topics and covers both the input and the output of Excel's statistics functions and statistics Data Analysis package. 1)Descriptive statistics 2)Probability Distributions (Binomial, Poisson, Hypergeometric) 3)Testing hypothesis (both Z and t tests) 6)ANOVA (F-Test, single factor, two factors). It also goes into useful detail on which ANOVA Excel Data Analysis to use. 7)Correlation 8)Regression (not covered in strong detail but that would be outside the scope of this book). Again, the book does a good job of explaining the output of the Excel's Data Analysis which can be confounding. I think that alone might be worth the price of this book for many. It also provides good explanations on which Excel statistical functions and tools to use in which type of data sets. This book does not contain any practice problems but only limited examples. If you already have good understanding of statistics and would like to know how you can utilize Excel to crunch data using your statistical knowledge, then this book should help you a great deal. I do not recommend this book for those who are trying to learn statistics as it does not delve much at all into statistical concepts. This is mostly a "how to" book on Excel statistics.

Keeping it Simple

The layout of the book is simple, straightforward, and easy to follow. The editors included lots of "white space" which a book of this nature requires ... it keeps you from feeling overwhelmed. The interactive nature of the exercises and the explanations and diagrams are nicely organized. The book itself is very light and easy to carry around. Overall, I found it to be very accessible, and I would recommend it to others as a great resource.

First-class piece of work.

From a reviewer: I teach mathematics/statistics in the Education dept at Liverpool John Moores University, England. I have been asked by the publication 'Teaching Statistics' to review your recent book on Statistics with Excel. I would like to congratulate you on this first class piece of work. I have felt for some time that the profession is too hung up with the usefulness of dedicated stats packages. Too often I believe, statistics departments believe that the costlier the package, then the better it is. Untrue!
