Great Affordable Cookbook for Beginners

Starting Cooking is a thorough introduction to cooking, from the utensils needed to measuring tips to skills such as chopping, slicing and grating vegetables, and kneading dough. What I like most about the book is that the recipes are ones the whole family can eat and enjoy. No pancakes in the shape of bears or cutesy bagel faces here. Instead you'll find colorfully illustrated directions for making spaghetti, stuffed baked potatoes, savory rice, chicken parcels, pizza and tuna casserole. My six year old beamed from ear to ear as he proudly served the spaghetti and green salad I helped HIM make. Deserts include oatmeal bars and brownies. All recipes are accompanied by photographs.
