Invaluable advice for student journalists everywhere!

For over two years, I have helped edit The Michigan Review, the University of Michigan's campus affairs journal. This wonderful book perfectly lays out everything any student journalist needs to know, and it has helped me and my colleagues immensely. This book teaches you how to write an article, be it news, commentary or investigative report. It offers creative and successful approaches to newspaper design. Unlike other journalism books, this one also tells the student journalist how to deal with controversy that may stem from his or her articles.All in all, this book is an invaluable resource for student journalists everywhere. After reading "Start the Presses" and utilizing many of its prescribed journalism techniques, I appeared on 60 Minutes as a representative of my newspaper, and landed a fantastic summer reporting internship at the Detroit News Washington Bureau. Now, as graduation approaches, I am more than prepared to enter the exciting and adventurous world of journalism.Purchase it, read it, study it, and read it again. It's a must have on any student journalist's shelf. I cannot recommend it enough.
