The apex of the genre.

While I regard this genre as my guilty little secret, an escape from the demand of more "serious" literature, I truly love it. Up until now however, I have felt like this genre was missing something, that it all had been said and done and that it was tiring out. This series opened my eyes to the fathomless possibilities that still exist. I now know that I can come away from a series fully satisfied and yet, somehow aching for more. Lately some bright lights have appeared in this genre, and I would have to consider Sara Douglass as one of the best. If you like epic fantasy I would recommend this series heartily. I look forward to once again slipping into her rich world with the release of the next trilogy in the States.

Prophecy Fulfilled!

Sara Douglas has outdone herself in this sweeping conclusion to her Axis trilogy.In Starman, you will watch in awe as Axis and Azhure fulfill the prophecy of destroying axis half-brother, the evil monster Gorgrael.Douglas's skills as a world-builder are more evident in this novel as she describes the beauty of her world. The battle scenes in this book are a wonder to behold as you see Axis and his army with the sorcerous help of his wife,Azhure decimate Gorgrael's army of Skaelings and gryphons.Plot twists in this novel are also great as Wolfstar, the cunning iscaii sorcerer manipulates Axis and Gorgrael and twists the prophecy for his own ends. Axis must not only contend with his nemesis, Gorgrael but also with his ruthless baby son, dragonstar who seeks to kill his own brother Caelum to become firstborn and treachery from Timozel who now leads Gorgrael's army! Douglass's unforgettable series with all of it's magic, color, wonder and spectacle pales in comparison to the heart-tugging conclusion as one character will sacrifice herself so Axis can defeat Gorgrael. I look forward to Sara Douglass's next series because I prophecy to make: She will be a force to reckon with in the fantasy genre!

starman revived

this is the best book ever in the Tencendor series. axis has beenreunited with his mother and father. not only that but with his heritage. it has adventure, love, and pain.

I thought that this book was one of the best I have ever read. I can't wait for the caleum starson trilogy to come out! I have looked all over for it but I guess its not out yet. One can only wait. I hope its just as good as the starman trilogy.

The book was great

I got this book way before it came out in the U.S. When i saw her first book in stores and read it i immediatly fell in love with it. Her writting is so wonderful and the plot line keeps you interested and for you guys who like war and lots of killing this book has it all
