Starlight, Star Bright, Draw Your Gun Tonight

This book contains 3 classic western stories by the master of the short story/short novel Ernest Haycox. Each one is written in that same inimitable style that was his trademark--character driven, psychological filled, and action enough to keep you turning pages. Starlight and Gunflame tells the tale of young deputy Tex Bonney who wears his badge close to his arm pit so it wouldn't show lest someone might think he was bragging. But when the old Sheriff is on the verge of retirement gets murdered there was no holding Tex back from bringing the killer to justice. In Red Romaine the title character gambles to make a living so he won't have to work, but he becomes involved in murder and mystery. In Crossfire the third story Clay Calhoun avenges his brothers who were lured into outlawry. All three are excellent stories.
