Starbound Hearts: The Logic of Comets

By: Hartwell, Lyra

Welcome to the Meridian Observatory: where the coffee is temporal, the zoning permits are intergalactic, and the laws of physics are treated as polite suggestions.

Dr. Maya Vance thought she was taking a straightforward, quiet gig managing a remote observatory nestled in the picturesque Willamette Valley. She certainly didn't plan on inheriting a broken-down facility retrofitted with bootlegged alien technology, a coffee maker that regularly previews breakfast items from next Thursday, or an exasperated human administrator who runs his life entirely through color-coded binders and existential dread.

Enter Aethon: an elite alien scout-cartographer who spent three centuries mapping the outer spiral arms of the galaxy, only to crash-land on a wet Pacific Northwest ridge and decide that charting distant stars pales in comparison to watching Maya argue with rogue kitchen appliances.

Together, alongside a tech-support specialist who treats reality like an open-source sandbox, this mismatched crew has to dodge unannounced audits from the Central Interdimensional Bureau of Standardization, survive gravity-defying morning brews, and figure out how to balance an interstellar ledger without accidentally turning the Big Dipper upside down.

Filled with sharp wit, slow-burn romantic tension, high-concept cosmic absurdity, and just enough caffeine to keep the universe from collapsing into itself, Starbound Hearts: The Logic of Comets is a laugh-out-loud, heartwarming sci-fi comedy about finding your anchor in a universe that refuses to sit still.

Grab your mug, secure your floorboards, and discover why the best anomalies are the ones you never saw coming.
