On Earth, cars go vroom, but in space the Millennium Falcon goes ZOOM A perfect introduction to the Star Wars universe, this board book features the names and images of the most iconic spaceships... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Our almost 3 year old is a HUGE Star Wars fan and also loves any kind of spaceship as he wants to be an astronaut. I bought this book as a stocking stuffer hoping he would be able to read it himself (he is a very early reader). He loves his Star Wars spaceship book and actually can "read" it by himself after 2 readings with me but he's memorized it for the most part. The book is very short (typical baby board book size) so there is not a lot of content, there is a very short phrase or sentence on every other page. I wish they made a little more complex one. He does enjoy the book and will often take it to bed with him to read. I'm not sure I'd buy it again but if you're looking for a book for your very young Star Wars fan, it's just OK.
Great for kids!

My Nephew is going to love this book. I was suprised to see how small it was (guess I should have read the description more carefully) but I still love it and think it will make a great gift for this 3 year old!
a board book about the great star ships

"Spaceships" is fun for the youngest of Star Wars readers. The format is the most remarkable aspect of the title; this is a board book. The odds are with this book that it could survive a direct assault by a Star Destroyer. So there's little chance that the hands of a four year old will do any harm to the cardboard pages. As the title indicates, the book is a tour of the galaxy's most memorable star ships. There's the Star Destroyer, Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, X-Wing, B-Wing and the Grand Poobah of them all, the Death Star. In a day when most Star Wars books cover the entire saga, "Spaceships" is loyal to the original trilogy. Each of the six spreads show a featured ship and a sentence. Additionally, onomatopoeic sounds provide a written soundtrack. Perfect for youngsters, the pages are done in such a way that there are two textures. Each illustration is a blending of the regular page surface along with an area that's smooth and shiny. These dual textures invite touching. All in all, youngling readers will enjoy blasting off with "Spaceships."
If you love Star Wars...

Great pictures of many of the Star Wars ships. Text is very succinct and mainly a description of the ships and what they do. Not sure it's going to be a hit with toddlers, but it sure is fun for fans of Star Wars!
