Buried under the ice of Antarctica lies an abandoned alien battlefort, and within it is also the history of the Human race. We were brought here as slaves of a galactic empire of Dinosaurs that destroyed every bit of their technology on Earth when they pulled out except for the planetary defense station, for it was too well armored to quickly destroy. So they buried it, locked it down, and left. Some Humans accidentally got left behind, and now Earth has an 8 billion illegal population that will be eradicated if we are rediscovered here. The Pegasus Corporation that found the pyramid in Antarctica keeps it a secret from the world's governments and forms a new corporation called Star Force to usher in an bright era of space colonization using some of the reverse-engineered technologies. But in secret they have barely scratched the surface of the mind-boggling technology, knowing that if the Dinosaurs come back we are so far behind them that we have no chance of survival. To try and counter this, Star Force creates a secret military and recruits the best and brightest from Earth to train in a first of its kind academy. Using the alien technology, the members of this first class of Archons will effectively become immortal...unless they are killed. They won't grow old and grievous injuries can be healed quickly, which means the leaders of this new secret military will not just begin it, they'll be leading it forever, so their correct selection and initial training is paramount. While that happens, Director Sean Davis, CEO of Star Force, has to deal with the nations of Earth that are not looking to colonize space for peaceful co-existence. They want to use it as a platform to war on one another while safely watching the news vids from Earth. So before Star Force can even think of fighting aliens, a potential civil war has to be dealt with first... ------ This series was originally written as serialized novellas, 100 episodes long in what comprised the 'Origin Series'. The story continues on after that, but in 2016 the Origin Series was condensed into 25 books with four episodes per book, making them the length of a standard novel. The 'Star Force Universe' numbering is for the entire franchise with the exclusion of the spinoff 'Starship Fleet Commander' series that has its own numbering. So when you see two sets of numbering on the cover, the SFU is for the overall reading order, and the 'Origin Series' is for this grouping of books and others subsets that follow within the franchise.
