Originally published in 1860 'Staniforthiana Or Recollections of the Family of Staniforth Of Darnall in Yorkshire" was written by Frances Margery Hext, granddaughter of Thomas Staniforth, former Lord Mayor of Liverpool. The book, which was sold largely to close family and friends, is considered to be the greatest source of information with regards to the Staniforth family of Darnall, Attercliffe and the surrounding areas from the 14th Century to the 19th Century 160 years later, the book has been reproduced by Nathan James Staniforth, founder of the Staniforth Society. Nathan is the grandson of Anthony Heaton Staniforth of Hackenthorpe, and a descendent of the Sickle smithing Staniforth family in the vilalge which includes Thomas Staniforth, founder of Thomas Staniforth & Co.
