Book Overview

Julie is the daughter of a Methodist minister & a school teacher. Born in Lansing, her family lived in various cities within Michigan & Ohio due to her father's ministry. After she graduated from high school, she worked several different jobs. At a business opportunity, she met a Black man from Cleveland. After dating for a while, they got married & lived in Cleveland raising two interracial children. They bought a hometogether in 1987. The unforeseen & unfortunate aspect of it, was that their home was located in a highly racist area! What impact does racial hate have and how did Julie get involved in the community to help enact changes? Does racial hate still exist in 2024? After the murder of George Floyd, people were asking to hear more from white people about this issue. This is Julie's story & experience.
