Standing for light and truth

Rev. Adrian Rogers has a systematic and rational message to help Christian believers and those who would like to follow Jesus. I got this book as a follow-up to watching his powerful Easter television sermon while I was traveling on a rainy weekend. His use of current, classic and often humorous anecdotes lures the reader into his theme that the Scriptures are a living document and that believers are temples of the Holy Spirit here on earth. Not only may we accept the mantle of forgiveness for our sins and also salvation by grace but we have a responsibility to strive to become the best we can be in order to honor Him who bore our sins. Believe me, I am not an every week church attendee but I do appreciate the logical and kindly thought of preachers like Rogers who have walked the walk and give us scriptural food to help us. Reading this book has eased my mind, then challenged me and finally comforted me.

Adrian Rogers....that tells you everything you need to know about this wonderful book! Dr. Rogers teaches on "Light" and "Truth", two topics that seldom get mentioned today, much less preached on. This compilation of sermons is written in Dr. Rogers typical, thought-provoking, heart-penetrating style. Dr. Rogers is greatly missed, but thank God we have wonderful books like this one to "teach us the way".
