The seventh volume in this series begins with my complete reversal on drones. The positive aspect of flying drones is revealed in the videos uploaded by "Ground Pilot." The drone footage of St. Anthony's Wilderness posted on YouTube is outstanding. It captures the essence of this wilderness area. Alas, "Ground Pilot" has created something that cannot be repeated, legally. Why? Because this year the Pennsylvania Game Commission has banned drones from state game lands. What the PGC does not want is a flyover video on YouTube of acres and acres of forested game lands pockmarked by drilling rigs, with roads and pipelines snaking through the once unbroken forest. Next up is a narrative relating to the Stony Mountain Lookout Tower, its origin and history. Following that is a composition about the area in St. Anthony's Wilderness known as Yellow Springs. It was considered the "most important colliery station on the estate for mining the semi-bituminous coal." Seventeen pages of history, photos, 19th century maps, and more. The volume ends with additional comments on the mining engineer at Yellow Springs, fire towers, and drones. If you have any questions or comments - stonymtnman@yahoo.com
