Śri Śankarāchāṛya'a Aparokṣānubhuti: Direct Realization

The authorship of "Aprokṣānubhūti" is frequently attributed to Śri Ādi Śaṅkarāchārya. Aprokṣānubhūti, as its name implies, delves into the methods of achieving direct self-realization and Brahma-realization, bypassing the conventional indirect methods and means. The concept of 'Direct Self-Realization' and 'Brahma Realization' eliminates the idea of worship of any physical form, including human bodies or material objects like mūrtis. In contrast, Neo-Vedāntins embrace Mūrtipūjā, mistakenly holding that an inert mūrti made of matter can embody the divine. This misconception is as misguided as equating the body with the soul itself. In this treatise, we strive to unveil the true essence of Śaṅkara's Advaita philosophy, encouraging a deeper understanding of the divine that transcends mere physical representations.
