What has caused the jellyfish population explosion on Ophidian Key? More importantly, why have they gotten so big? These are the questions Dr. Sofia Lugo, head researcher and caretaker of the tiny uninhabited Bahamian island hopes to get answers to. She enlists the help of her old friend, Michael, a professor of marine biology and renowned jellyfish expert. Professor Michael, along with a dysfunctional group of students in desperate need of extra credit, head to the Caribbean to get to the bottom of the crisis. April, a foul-mouthed, 3-foot tall dwarf, is Michael's assistant. She leads the student group that consists of a 400 lb. timid genius named Tubby, two Long Island Guidos and their sexy-scrappy girlfriends who are more interested in relaxing on the beach than research. When bodies (and body parts) start piling up, they realize they have a bigger problem on their hands, much bigger. A giant jellyfish is stalking them. After a rescue attempt fails, the remaining few concoct a plan to rid themselves of the squishy beast but no one can foresee what happens next.
