This book is dedicated to all of the families that have the privilege of raising a child with special needs.FROM THE AUTHORSQUARE, the character is based on my son Josiah aka Square (nicknamed from birth to distinguish from his twin brother nicknamed circle because of the shapes of their faces), and our journey through his diagnosis of ASD (autism spectrum disorder) from the age of three. As a single parent, this diagnosis was scary, overwhelming, and defeating. Our story together has been filled with tears, laughter, some disappointments, and GREAT accomplishments. The learning never stops.I wanted to create a book series for little ones and their families new to this diagnosis and also bring change to our schools of how to build a strong classroom community around children like my son Josiah and many others across the country."Square Can Do ANything" and the other books coming in this series will create a safe place of understanding a diagnosis that is often difficult to understand. All who are on the spectrum display symptoms differently than the next so in no way shape or form is this character to be the symbol for ALL children with autism. Again, this specific character and the stories are based on my child and our experiences. My hopes are to be able to reach families, classrooms, and children through a series that is identifiable/relatable and can be the remedy to bring us all closer together.Thank you for taking this journey with me.
