She played a dangerous game. Carolyn Browne was a poor bookseller's daughter and an enlightened thinker, delighting London with her scathingly witty columns, written under the name Charles... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was great! Throughout the beginning and middle, I laughed out loud too many times to count. Carolyn is daring and bold, and Sverayov fits her perfectly. Some of her antics and ruses and the way Sverayov handles them are absolutely hilarious! I definitely recommend this book. This was the first Brenda Joyce book I've read, but definitely not the last!
One of THE best books I've ever read!

I read through the other reviews here, and all bring up interesting points and really just goes to show that not everyone is going to love the same book, however I do disagree with all the negative comments.I'm VERY glad that I did not read these reviews before I read this book... it could have sat on the shelf never read if I had and I would have been missing out on a wonderful book! My personal opinion, this book was very well written, with an exciting plot and characters that I fell in love with. I loved EVERYTHING about this book. It will definatly be staying on my bookshelf (which I cannot say about almost all the books I read, they usually get taken to the used bookstore for credit). And I look forward to reading more of Brenda Joyce's works!Just remember that all of these reviews are nothing but opinions, and you have yet to make yours...
I'm now hooked on Brenda Joyce

This was the first book I've read by Brenda Joyce. I'm a devoted fan of Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood but I needed a new author for the time in between new releases, and I am so happy I've found Brenda Joyce. I loved this book. I simply could not put it down. I laughed out loud and even got teary-eyed. It was a delight to read. Since then I've picked up five other Brenda Joyce novels and I'm looking forward to the others. And I do agree that there needs to be a sequel.
One of the best books I have ever read!

I am an avid reader of romance novels. I have read a few Brenda Joyce novels in the past, but by far, this was the best!! The heroine was someone sweet, and smart. While the hero was all that a hero should be -- funny, smart, strong and most of all intelligent. I laughed out loud, and cried right along with the heroine. I believe this book is a must read for anyone who enjoys true romance!!!
Let's hear it for Brenda Joyce!!!!!

Splendor was the first Brenda Joyce book I read and will not be the last. I loved this book!! Ms. Joyce kept you enthralled in this wonderful love story to the very last page. The twists in the book were totally unexpected. I intend to keep reading Ms. Joyce's books until there are no more to read. This books tops my list!
