Brandon Pope---A Man on a Mission from God!

Spiritual lessons from Wall Street In the 1987 Movie--Wall Street, Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) says, "Greed is Good." It seems Brandon Pope never got that memo. Yes, he is a very successful businessman who has earned substantial sums from his Wall Street and investment career, but unlike Gordon Gekko, Brandon 'gets it.' He understands that God has given him a gift. A talent if you will--for making money and helping others do the same. A God given talent for advising some of the wealthiest people in the country. Has he made the most of that gift/talent? Absolutely! He has honored God's gift with hard work, diligence, education, perseverance and attention to detail. What Brandon 'gets' is that God has given him this gift for a reason. God has no problem with his children having great wealth. The Bible refers to the wealth of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job and Solomon just to name a few. Brandon understands that this gift from God is not just to make money to make money. It's not just to accumulate wealth to say you have it. He understands it's what you do with the money that really counts. He 'gets' that what is most important in this life is how we treat those around us. In a world where many are in poverty, despair and without hope, Brandon 'gets it' that God has given him this gift so he and his clients can make a real difference in the lives of the ones Jesus called, 'the least of these.'
