So many of our fictional heroes, from Tarzan to James Bond, are variations on the superman theme. Here is the true story of a man who realized that myth: Joseph Greenstein, The Mighty Atom. He was a... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Yosselle was one of the greatest teachers of all time, to have such a close minded fool as Bart Mandelschwitz with possibly no comprehension of the power of the mind or the energy force that is human life, to call him a liar proves his inability to understand anything other than what's "scientifically" correct. Ha. I'm sorry my friend but there's too much in this universe "science" dosent have an answer for. While he sits in his bedroom playing with his calculator, I recommend an approach to this book with an open mind to get a better understanding of the power of thought and positive will.It has enhanced my life 10 fold and I have never looked back.

This is one of my favorite books of all time! I have read it several times over the years, and it's always a treasure. This is a true and amazing story about a truly amazing man, Joe Greenstein aka "The Mighty Atom", a strongman of the highest caliber.Very well-written and highly entertaining, this book details the amazing, miraculous accomplishments of the Mighty Atom (not least of which includes holding back an airplane with his HAIR alone!). But it goes far beyond just listing his strongman feats - it's a truly interesting, in-depth look at a fascinating man and his hardships and successes in life as a vaudeville showman, father to ten children, devoted husband, spiritual seeker, and friend of mankind.I highly recommend this book for kids, adults, everyone! It's such a great, great book. Full of inspiration and wonder.

The Mighty Atom is an awesome yogi and an incredible inspiration for the human spirit. Anyone who needs a boost in life should read this book. You might not be able to accomplish what he did but it shows you that if you put your mind to it you CAN overcome a great deal in your life that you may have falsely believed to be a given. Read it! Thanks, Joe!
Inspiring and perhaps, life-changing.

After reading this book, all I have to do now is think of "The Mighty Atom" (a man who could hold back an airplane with his hair!) and I can open new jars of jelly in a snap, move a couch across a room in seconds flat, or even find a needle in a haystack, if I had to. It would have been an honor to know this (extra)ordinary man. Whenever I start feeling sorry for my overfed, overindulged self, I will pick up this book and read from it.
A True-Life Superman with the Heart of a Hero

In a world and era when most "heroes" in books and films spend much of their time killing people, I find it refreshing to meet Joe Greenstein, a true-life hero who overcame odds just to survive illness and poverty to become not only a kind-hearted hero and modern day "superman," but an example of integrity, love, loyalty, and strength of spirit. When Kung Fu TV series creator Ed Spielman wrote Joe's story, he penned one of the most unique stories of this or any time. Greenstein, who became famous as "The Mighty Atom," demonstrates to us all the power of determination and mind over matter. Without any hesitation, I can recommend this story to any adult or child over 8 years old; I read it to my daughters when they were young, and I believe it opened their minds to what we can accomplish in life. I know it opened mine.
