Spirit Poems: Above Every Mountain There is Light

Has life presented you with a circumstance that has seeded intense feelings of loss, sadness, anger, fear, bitterness, or seeds of unforgiveness?

These unresolved emotions become prisons for one's spirit, anchoring them to the pain associated with the event. Spirit Poems were written during one of these times and contain gems that will help you step into the emotion, unmoor the hurt anchor, and release the spirit.

As I sat in silence during the turmoil of my divorce, asking for understanding and guidance, these poems appeared in my mind and contained answers to my many questions. They filtered through my adult life and reached all the way back childhood, as they worked to teach me.

You don't need to be in a marital divorce to benefit from the poems. Divorce is "the separation of something from something". Some separations involve an external loss of a person, job, career, house, or physical capacity. Other separations involve an internal loss of a dream, identity, belief system, or vow. All these circumstances are mini-divorces that seed the intense feelings.

Irrespective if your separation was planned or unplanned, its emotional complexity will bring you face-to-face with your spirit. It can be hard to make sense of the conflict between your rational mind and what's speaking from your heart. This is where the poems teach.

This is my first poetry book, and that certainly does not qualify me as a world-famous Poet laureate. The poems are simple, yet present complexity to promote thought and understanding. If they can be labeled as anything, they are merely messages from my spirit that appear in a poetic form.
