Spirit and Process is about the most important subject of all, reality itself. At present, science has a huge fund of evidence which verifies that true reality is very different than the everyday "facts" we have been taught to believe. We live with an antiquated view of life and reality which severely limits our understanding of the world, and biases our perceptions of life in a negative way. Currently we live with a crude view of reality based on science from 300 years ago. That old scientific conception is an over-simplified explanation which actually ignores the majority of reality. It is no longer viable. There is a much more sophisticated new theory of ultimate reality which offers a view of life which is holistic and comprehensive. It heals the perennial contradictions between science and religion and offers the potential for peace and happiness as never before in the history of the Western world. The new view verifies that reality is essentially etherial, mystical, and spiritual, instead of simply materialistic, objective, and totally logical. The scientific data supporting this new understanding of reality comes from mainstream science and is supported by many of the most prominent scientists in the world. However, in spite of the huge weight of evidence supporting the new view, our nation and our society seem to show hard denial when faced with the scientific facts. Our society finds itself in a situation somewhat similar to the Roman church of the 16th century, when it was faced with proof that the earth actually revolves around the sun instead of the earth being the center of the universe. The church debated for sixty years whether Copernicus' astronomical proof could possibly be true before finally taking a stand. At present our nation and our society are faced with new scientific facts which will change the meaning of everyday life as well as the ultimate meaning of reality, when the facts are accepted and integrated into our culture. But at present, the most important source of meaning and prosperity in the United States is, de facto, money and material things. However, the new reality promises a new basis for happiness and prosperity which downplays the importance of money and material things. Although the new theory has the potential to unite science and religion, and offers new peace and happiness to individuals, our nations economic and socio-political structures have been based on the antiquated view of reality which it continues to teach. The new reality does demand a huge step in the recording of virtually everything, including the way we think. But the change is coming. The question is not if, but when, the changes will occur.This book is an introduction to that subject. It offers a primer for understanding the science of the new reality. It also discusses the resistance and difficulties involved in in the change to a new way of understanding life and the universe. And this book provides information about how to integrate the new reality into our individual lives. Most of all, it offers hope and real excitement about life for all of us. Finally there is a picture of reality which looks and feels truly whole.
