"Spinning through Warm Air" is a debut collection of 41 poems which invites the reader to take a closer look at the everyday moments of life. A long, frigid winter, a stop behind a yellow school bus, a reflection on what can erode a marriage and a memory of first love, as well as the struggle to live in grace and harmony with the question of Otherness, all encourage readers to look at their own world and to see that there is more there than they may have realized. Ultimately uplifting, but never sentimental, these poems pay tribute to the beauty of the ordinary. Three of the poems in the collection have been previously published in "America," "Educational Forum," and "English Journal."
