This book serves as a brief guide to the collection of the things I wish I knew when I was a student and when I became a newly qualified Occupational Therapist. OT is a wonderful, unique and creative profession that can be unusual at times in the best way. OT attracts a set of individuals that thrive in the profession who are just as unique. Even though OT is an amazing profession to be a part of, it comes with its own challenges and difficulties. This journey can become more challenging without support and guidance through the confusing times.
There is an abundance of OT knowledge, skills to learn, theories to absorb and countless skills to make use of. Yet, I wish someone sat me down to explain how to navigate this unique journey. This book is here to remind you that is it okay to struggle, question the journey, and feel uncertain about OT. I hope that through sharing the lessons and bits that stood out to me along my own journey, that you will reach a point that you no longer doubt that OT is the right path for you.
