A practical guide to all things magick...

I got this book last Yule from a friend. I have never heard of this title so I placed it on the side thinking I will read it later. Since receiving it, I must say I call upon this book a lot when there is a problem or I am stuck. This is one of the most useful and helpful books in my library. Spells, Charms, Talismans & Amulets: The complete guide of magical enchantment is a wonderful book. However, I think the first four words puts people off. They think this is just another spell book. However, it is so much more. In this book, there is a vast collection of spells and recipes for wonderful charms, talismans and amulets. However, there is so much more. This is a great book for beginners as well as a great reference book for all of us who has been practicing for a while. It covers all the basics from basic traditions of beliefs and it takes a look at the magickal tools, deities, words of the Wiccan way. It also shows you some helpful physical and mental techniques. This book shows you how to prepare an altar and the meaning of certain symbols and colours to everything in between. What this book has that many books do not is a true Do-it-yourself style. There is wonderful recipes to make your own oils, incense to even making a simple robe. It takes you step by step so anyone can do the spells or make any item in this book. Pamela Ball's writing is easy to understand. She is best known for her dream books. However, this book in my opinion is her best. The information in this book is very useful and helpful. However, what I love about this book is NOT, it is not boring. The writing is simple and uncluttered. This book is completely underrated, and not given a fair share as other books on the subject of Wicca. Spells, Charms, Talismans & Amulets: The complete guide of magical enchantment should be in any Pagan/Wiccan's library as much as any other book on the subject. It is a shame that book is no longer in print. This is a lesser-known gem that should be hailed just as much as other beloved books of the path.
