from the back of the book: She woke to a strange world After months in a coma, Belinda woke to find she'd lost her job, her apartment and even her fiance, Ricky. He had left her for another woman. She resolved to get on with things and make a new life for herself. But she hadn't reckoned on the meddling of Ricky's brother, powerful merchant broker Vincent Garrett. Gradually, despite all her attempts to evade him, Belinda was forced to acknowledge the attractions of a very unconventional Prince Charming Spellbinding my Charlotte Lamb My take: 3.5 stars The heroine, Belinda, wakes up from acoma eight months after having been in a car accident with the hero's brother. You see, at the time of the accident, Belinda was engaged to the hero's spoiled younger brother. On the day Belinda wakes up from acoma, her fiancé, Ricky, is getting married to his childhood sweetheart. He had all but given up hope that she would ever wake up again. The first person she asks for when she wakes is Ricky but of course he is nowhere around. Instead Ricky's brother Vincent comes to the hospital. Belinda's parents live in Australia*, when her mother is informed that she has come out of coma she hops a plane to London to visit Belinda. Vincent promises Belinda's mother that he will look after her until she is well again. When she is discharged from the hospital instead of taking her to a house, Vincent takes her to his house where he employs on of his mother's friends, who is a retired nurse, as his housekeeper. It takes Belinda a little time before she figures out that she is in Vincent's home and not a recovery house. Belinda was very upset but after much thinking realizes she has nowhere to go as the world has moved on while she slept for eight months. She settles down attempts to make the best out of a bad situation. All throughout the book, the heroine uses her love for Ricky to push the hero away. When Vincent finally gives her the opportunity to reunite with Ricky, Belinda realizes that she is not so sure about her feelings anymore. In the beginning, the two battle it out non stop but over time, she slowly but surely falls in love with Vincent. Vincent on the other hand, fell in love with Belinda months ago when he would visit her every day in the hospital. This book has a happy ending of course but I won't give anymore spoilers for those who would prefer to read it themselves. This book is free from the physical violence that some of Lamb's earlier HP books contain.
