Well-rounded

This book continues the Spectrum series' tradition of excellence. The lessons include both fiction and nonfiction, with well thought-out questions and exercises following each page of text. Like all Spectrum titles, the pedagogy of this book is very logical, and doesn't seem haphazard in the way that some other workbooks can. Again, I would like to see a little more creativity/humor in the artwork, ala Brain Quest or School Zone, but it's a minor complaint...

Great Workbook

This is a great workbook. My daughter says it is harder than the 1st grade reading, which is what I wanted to hear. She enjoys the stories in it as well and it does teach comprehension, which is great!

Wonderful Teaching Tool

This book is great for people that are homeschool or for people that want there children to have a helping tool at home. I homeschool my 7 year old son, he is in 2nd grade and this has been a great teaching tool. It teaches him to listen to the story's and pay attention, because once they are done with there story, there is a page for them to do on each story.

Good for home-schooling

I love the whole spectrum series of books, including this one. Very thorough but not too difficult so that the child gets discouraged. Absolutely grade level appropriate. You see real progress as your child works through these books and builds on all the things being learnt. Wonderful series!

Spectrum Reading, grade 2

I am a home schooling mom and I am finding this book to be a great assest for my son. We read a story a day and complete the questions. We like how each story leads into the next one so my son is interested to find out what is going to happen next, thus enjoying the reading. He is very pleased with himself as each day gets easier and easier. We like it!
