3.5 for some of the stories

Overall, this read did what it was supposed to, delivered gritty, hot military erotica. Some of the stories were better than others, I'll leave it to other readers to decide which were best for them. Every story, honestly, had some nugget of goodness about it, some more than others. I wouldn't rate any of the stories less than 3.5 stars, but truthfully, some of the stories did drag the collection down from an overall 5-star to a 4. If you're looking for cushy, squishy, girlie m/m romance, keep looking. This is flesh-slapping, out in the battlefields raw sex. Some of the stories have more of an emotional connection than others. They vary from the Civil War to indeterminate future conflicts in alternate histories. This was money well-spent, in my opinion, and while I won't re-read some of the stories, the collection is, for me, a keeper overall.
