Ramirez studied the violin and piano at the Royal College of Music in London and English and theology at Trinity College Dublin before joining the orchestra of the touring Carl Rosa opera company and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. These poems are his bequest to a close friend and are published now, after the poet's death, according to his wishes'.
