Virtually every government across Treshium tried recruiting Relius, as did virtually every global government agent and agency with any interest in the future. Relius had never been prone to greed or even overly struck by any sense of patriotic duty. It is most likely that what drove him most, was what he had learned from his parents, and even to a lesser degree, to his siblings, whom he greatly loved and respected. He may have been equally influenced by the many nights spent in the living room (which remained a familial office space) and their work which he had followed so closely in his more formative years. There was never any doubt however, that the only real dream which Relius ever had, was seeking out the source of all of the varied and sundry signals that had been intercepted, indicating other intelligent life somewhere out in the great voids of space ... out in the "Great Beyond" as it had come to be known on Treshium. In the early days of FTL travel, there was but one goal, and that was to explore the known galaxies and beyond ... but what would they discover when they got there?
